ELLE was the first media outlet in Slovenia to release a story honouring women on the frontlines of the Covid-19 crisis. Our cover influenced major publications in the country to follow our lead with similar content.
From all reader nominations, we handpicked nine women from diverse demographic backgrounds with often overlooked occupations, who showed incredible strength and made sure our world kept turning: a delivery driver, a TV journalist, a medical intern, a firefighter, a veterinarian, a nurse, a pharmacist, a nursing home care worker, and a grocery store cashier.
In a series of interviews, each woman shared her experience of working during the national lockdown, her fears and hopes, and little moments of happiness.
